Score Slitting Knives -
DIMENSIONS
skberi offers a wide selection of slitti knivves are available in
two (2) grades of steel.
Standard grade AISI 52-100
Semi-High speed AISI 0-7
Manufacturing Tolerances:
thickness:
.0005"
hole size: .00015"
Central to hub
Edge: .001
Hardness : 62-63 RC
The semi high speed grade is optimum for usage in cutting highly abrasive
materials. The 0-7 tool steel will outwear the 52100 approximately 2 ½
times in abrasive applications. If knives dull from edge fatigue or
crumbling, then 52100 will work nearly as well for less money.
Any score slitting knife can be made from D-2 or high speed steel.
Mill and Calender Knives
These knives are made to remove stripsw of rubber or plastic from mills or
calenders. The knives are not intended to rotate during operation, as this
would tend to score the rolls. The pinholes are a means of indexing and
holding the knives in a new position when dulling occurs.
All knives are made of chromium tool steel that has exceptional edge
properties at 50 rockwell c hardness.
Mill and calender knives to specifications not shown are available made to
order.
Tread Knives
The tread skiver knives shown here are made from AISI A-2 tool steel. The
fact that A-2 contains 5% chromium does not make it a true stainless steel,
but it resists rust. At 52 RC hardness, these are the best knives on the
market. In addition, these knives are available in other air-hardening
grades of tool steel upon request.
Optional Edge Treatments
8 radial slots-1/8"w x 1 ½"D drilled and slotted as pictured
tungsten carbide plating teflon coating.
skberi tread skivers are dished 1/64" so that the flat side
does not become convex at high speeds, and static lateral run out (wobble)
is less than .005".
